You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. When the rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against your house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.
