The Sermon on the Mount is a most beautiful teaching. Powerful things are possible in Christ's name.
Agreed: Jesus was a man and a Rabbi. A teacher of religion and life. There were different views in the early church. Some believed he was wholly man and others believed he was wholly spirit. The Catholics came to a compromise at the Council of Nicea. From that point on all rival views were systematically erased from the religious conscience.

The Christ of Christianity is based on Sri Krishna. They also worked some of Lord Buddha's life and teachings into the script too.

As unhistorical as the Christ of St Paul may be, there is no denying his psycho-spiritual power and influence on the lives of many.
Something for you, AbuHishaam to chew on. I understand the Muslim take on Nabi Issa ( Jesus for the uninitiated ).

A few problems: Jesus could speak/prophesy when he was a baby. He was born without a father's sperm. He is the Kalaamallah ( The Word of God ). He did not die on the cross. Went up into heaven. Will return one day.

A note to non-Muslims: All of the above are in the Holy Quran and accepted by all Muslims. Now as a freethinker the above sounds pretty impressive to me. Sounds like Jesus must be superhuman if one cannot accept that he is divine!
Jesus is the King
Those familiar with Bible know the quote. The Israelites had 12 tribes and many prophets. Perhaps the man he referred to was from the Lemba, Ethiopia or Americas. Every cultist have superimposed their favourite religious figure onto the Scripture. It could even be you, but then I guess you are literate, and that's disqualification!

What does unlettered mean in the Biblical context anyway? The future Jewish king, David was a hillbilly.

Who was the man about whom God spoke to Moses about in Deutronomy wherein He states: I shall send from amongst thy bretheren one who like unto thee. and I will cast my word upon his mouth and he is unlettered and he shall recite in My name. And whosoever that will not hearken to his words, I myself shall bring him to account!?

My wordings may not be accurate, but those who are versed with the Bible will know the verse being referred to here.
My interpretation of the Bible is not Catholic or from it's offshoots. Hence the perceived peculiarity.

The Jews if you take them as a tribe, have at least 11 other brethren. Jah Rastafari from Ethiopia could be a contender, so could Joseph Smith from America. The latter actually produced a rather impressive scripture, The Book of Mormon. There are many others.

Maybe so, but he too was lettered. So were all the Saviours and Prophets. I'v never come across your versions of Biblical interpretation. Sounds somewhat spurious. I dont know. Interesting though. Any one else has something to say about this man whom God promised to send?

Looking at the verse, important pointers:

1. Who are the brethren of the Jews?
2. Who was to the likeness of Moses?
3. Who was the unlettered Prophet?
4. Which Prophet in whose mouth and heart a heavenly book was revealed?
5. Who is the Prophet who recited the Holy Book revealed to him in the name of God?

They may be afraid to scrutinize! What if you discover the Truth?

Stands to reason. Wonder what our Christian folks have to say to these discussions. They all seem tongue-tied. Is the God of Islam the only eloquent One?!

Sweet Jesus. For the love of Christ! I have to retreat to the desert. AbuHishaam you are on your own.
Obviously you are not going to get rid of me so easily. As a rule religious people don't like their religions to be discussed. Christians and Muslims warned me against studying comparative religion. Which I did anyway. People before we start another Crusade or Jihad, please note that the theologians know exactly what's what. They withhold info from the flock. Sheep's not supposed to think.

This is very difficult for me to admit but sometimes AbuHishaam is correct. The Bible talks about the Elohim. Jesus cried out to Eli Eli Lama... on the cross. Hebrew, Aramaic ( the dialect of Jesus's time ) and Arabic are related. Like Afrikaans, Dutch and German or Xhosa and Zulu. So Allah, Eli, Elu is the Lord's name. At least in those languages. The English name, Elizabeth means House of God. I know, it's my mother's name!
After you have taken a deep breath we can continue this discussion. Fire in the belly is good. The trick is in harnessing it.

Let me give you hint all of you people. WHO READS THE MODERN BIBLE TODAY?
Well if you answered yes then i strongly suggest you use that bible to wipe your ass. Reason for me saying so is
the true bible was took out and manipulate you human beings and the Anti Christ sit in their towers pretending to be the godly men the anti Christ are here and trying to take your place in heaven away.... please do some research about your religion you will find extraordinary things which will make shiver oh yeah god is not gonna let 2012 happen because the anti Christ is planing that on their home..................... yes our human race are gonna try to destroy the most people on earth and after that they would try to rule the earth it is called NEW WORLD ORDER. The bible states that human is gonna wear number and swear off god which is already happening so think about...
QUESTION FOR ALL:
WHO DO YOU THINK RULES THE WORLD
